Rob W. Gierkink
Chairman and CEO, DataLogix
Prior to founding DataLogix, Rob Gierkink co-founded three of the world’s largest cross-merchant loyalty programs. He was most recently CEO of Loyalty Management Group (LMG), the company that operates the United Kingdom’s largest loyalty program, Nectar, with over 50% of UK households participating. Under Gierkink’s leadership, the company grew from start-up to over $400 million in revenues in under 6 years. LMG was sold to Group Aeroplan in December 2007 in a $750 million cash transaction. Gierkink also co-founded the largest loyalty programs in Canada (Air Miles Reward Program) and the Netherlands (Air Miles Program) which today have 70% and 50% of households participating in their respective countries.. He has keynoted the DMA’s annual conference, and served as a guest lecturer at Harvard Business School and London Business School.
Rob was born in Canada and holds a Bachelor of Business Management from Ryerson University in Toronto, Ontario and a Masters in Business Administration from Harvard Business School in Boston.
George Bell
Managing Director, General Catalyst Partners
George Bell has been involved in the creation and growth of consumer businesses for 25 years.
Before General Catalyst, he was CEO of UPromise , the country’s largest college savings service, sold in 2006 to Sallie Mae.
Bell was also Chairman and CEO of Excite@Home, bringing together the Excite portal with the @Home cable broadband platform in a $7 billion merger. Bell was CEO of Excite prior to the merger, led the company’s IPO, oversaw the acquisition of more than 20 companies and expanded Excite into a worldwide media property. Previously, Bell founded The Outdoor Life Network (now Versus Network), a specialty cable channel reaching 40+MM homes; served as SVP, Times Mirror Magazines, where he oversaw eight special interest magazines, such as SKI and Field & Stream; and has won four national Emmy Awards as a producer and writer of adventure, wildlife and vanishing culture documentaries for ABC, Discovery Channel, and National Geographic. Bell is also board Chairman of Harris Interactive (NASDAQ: HPOL) a leading marketing services and polling company; Chairman of the New England Advisory Board of Trust for Public Land; and immediate past Chairman of the Massachusetts Technology Leadership Council.
He has won the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award both in Northern California and New England; been featured in TIME, Fortune, Forbes and Business Week; has appeared regularly on CNBC as both guest and co-host; and spoken extensively on new media, convergence, and leadership. He holds a BA from Harvard College
Tim Connor
Partner, Sequel Ventures
Tim Connor has been a Partner, Sequel Venture Partners since 2000. Prior to Sequel, he was CFO and SVP of Operations of Access Health, which was acquired by McKesson in 1999. Connor was a Managing Director at Lehman Brothers from 1985 – 1996.
He currently sits on the Boards of Aztek Networks, Inc., InfoNow Corporation and Quova, Inc.
Connor has an MBA from Harvard Graduate School of Business and a BA in Economics from Washington College.
Howard Paster
Executive Vice President, Public Relations & Public Affairs, WPP Group Plc
Howard Paster has been Executive Vice President, Public Relations/Public Affairs at WPP Group since 2002, and was previously Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Hill & Knowlton, Inc., a WPP company. Paster served on the Board of WPP for three years, resigning in 2006. Prior to joining Hill & Knowlton in 1994, he served as assistant to President Bill Clinton and director of the White House Office of Legislative Affairs. He is a member of the board of trustees of Tuskegee University, President of the Little League Foundation, a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and Co-Chair of the Council on American Politics at George Washington University.
